Organizing your site requires that you have an accurate set of blueprints. Information architecture (IA) is one of the first deliverables in any OakTree Digital project, and ensures that both client and our staff are “speaking the same language.”
Information Architecture provides visual displays of the website – these can be thought of as website schematics. Typical website projects include site maps (as pictured here) and multiple page level “wireframes,” which are blueprints representing the placement and priority of content.
On larger projects involving more complex application such as web application design, social media, and eLearning, a much more extensive process is required. In this case, information architecture delves into persona creation, extensive wireframe creation, use case mapping, and can even take the form of a functioning web prototype.
